Reel Therapy 2: MORE Ethical and Professional Issues for Therapists

Therapists and therapy are often portrayed in American and foreign films with varying degrees of accuracy. Nevertheless, real therapists and other helping professionals can learn a great deal about themselves from reel therapists. Thus, the format for Reel Therapy 2 will be the same as it was for Reel Therapy. We will watch entertaining and provocative film clips about ethical and professional issues, followed by a lively discussion about the insights and reactions raised by the clips.

However, Reel Therapy 2 will address new issues including the therapeutic relationship, the role of values, termination of the therapeutic relationship, and the ethical importance of consultation. Reference will be made to relevant professional codes of ethics, including social work, psychology, and professional counseling.
